In the 23rd century, the survivors of a holocaust now lives within a domed city that is sealed off from the outside world. In the domed city, men and women live in a society where you can only live until you are 30-years old (due to population control and limited resources), the people have two choices: They can either take part in a extermination ceremony called "Carousel" where they are promised a rebirth or they can go on the run and escape to outside the domed city. Logan 5 is a Sandman, a elite policeman whose job is terminate all "Runners" who refuse to be exterminated on Carousel and escape to outside the city. When Logan finds a symbol, the computer that controls all life in the city, gives Logan a undercover assignment to find and destroy a mysterious place called Sanctuary by posing as a runner, by removing the last four years of his life from his life crystal. Now on the run himself, and hunted by his partner and best friend Francis 7, Logan and a woman named Jessica 6 working for a underground resistance group that are helping all Runners search for Sanctuary escapes from the domed city and find themselves in a devastated Washington D.C, where Logan and Jessica discover another world and find there is much to live for and Logan begins to question the system. It's 2274 and on the surface, it all seems to be an idyllic society. Living in a city within an enclosed dome, there is little or no work for humans to perform and inhabitants are free to pursue all of the pleasures of life. There is one catch however: your life is limited and when you reach 30, it is terminated in a quasi-religious ceremony known as Carousel. Some, known as runners, do try to escape their fate when the time comes and it's the job of Sandmen to track them down and kill them. Logan is such a man and with several years before his own termination date, thinks nothing of the job he does. Soon after meeting a young woman, Jessica-6, he is ordered to become a runner himself and infiltrate a community outside the dome known as Sanctuary and to destroy it. Pursued by his friend Francis, also a Sandman, Logan and Jessica find their way to the outside. There they discover a beautiful, virtually uninhabited world. Logan realizes that he must return to the dome to tell them what he's found and be set free. I didn't get to see the very beginning of this one, but surely enough it will catch up with me another day. The story is complex, and the special effects are of course, from that era. However, one must look at it from a viewpoint of artistic and imaginative perspective to realize that this can easily qualify as a decent sci-fi flick that should not be overlooked, and may even compare with the likes of Planet of the Apes, Total Recall, Ghataca, Minority Report, etc. Okay, don't laugh at the Styrofoam special effects and the many holes left open and unanswered, they did their best. The premise of the futuristic elements of a human android society with a savior-type individual leading to change and find the real truth is what compels one to take this well acted (York, Jenny, Ustinov, and character that was York's sandman friend) movie and watch it over some popcorn. It would be nice to remake it using today's technology, or better yet make a prequel, if it works out, remake the original, and a sequel. My Take: Even dated special effects and pacing can make this look bad.

Save George Lucas' STAR WARS, sci-fi movies of the 70's were pretty flashy for their time being, but now they seemed to blah these days. Science fiction has suddenly taken a leap these days thanks to, mainly, big budgets, special effects and top-billing all-star cast. Special effects redefine themselves every time another summer movie is released. These redefinitions makes their grandfathers like LOGAN'S RUN look feeble and obsolete. Still, what great fun film this is. LOGAN'S RUN may seem like outmoded material, and it might probably be, but it has more heart than most recent blockbusters.

The film takes place sometime during the year 23rd century (but we all have a more ambitious vision of future centuries by now). The world is now but a dome looming through nothingness. Inside the dome however, is a nearly perfect metropolis, with undeniable pleasure and gee-whiz technology (at least, during the 70's). But with every perfection is a drawback (as we were always warned during every sci-fi movie). When you're 30 years old, you have to give yourself up to a "perfect" system called "Carousel" and accept a form of rejuvenation.

Michael York plays a sort of futuristic cop who tries to stop those who try to escape from "Carousel" thinking that it spells doom. Pretty soon, he's turning 30, and he now must run from the system he helped bring up, tagging along a woman (Jenny Agutter) who gets herself involved due to her suspicion. By the mention of this plot line, you know exactly that this is the ancestor of later sci-fi blockbusters as MINORITY REPORT and THE ISLAND. This one is not nearly as innovative and expensive as those recent blockbusters, but comparison isn't required. LOGAN'S RUN, on its own credit, is an entertaining piece of nostalgia. The old-fashioned technological gimmicks reminds us of our own views and imaginations as a kid, and it' quite amusing to see them come to life in this entertaining little film. LOGAN'S RUN is a worthy rental.

Rating: *** out of 5. A sci-fi which balances big themes and claustrophobic action with apparent ease. Yes, by authors William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, published in 1967 Many. One is the age limit before Lastday/Sleep: 21. Logan works for Deep Sleep and his palm flower is grey and about to start blinking red/black as the story begins in 2116. Armed Sandmen are the primary enforcers armed with guns loaded with multipurpose rounds from Tanglers to Vapor to Homers to Nitro to Rippers to Incinerating Blister charges. Guns (6 shooters resembling Colt Peacemakers) are kept under palm flower lock at DS headquarters. "Doyle 10's" palm flower color sequence: Yellow = child; Blue = age 7-14; Red = age 14-21. "Jessica 6" is the sibling of "Doyle 10," first hunt of Logan's work shift. "Doyle 10" is killed by amped up feral "cubscouts" in the jungle called Cathedral. His last word is "sanctuary," and "Lilith 4's" key falls out of his clenched hand for Logan to collect. Tobacco is a controlled substance(!). A Risky night film camera (Peep) voyeur mission with Lilith 4 leads to a kind of underground railroad to Sanctuary. Logan's gun tips off Doc and Holly 13 to the presence of a Sandman. Doc and Logan's fight to the death occurs after the New You surgical table self destructs. After Holly 13's suicide, Logan finds a half-awake "Jessica 6" in another New You room. With maze car key in hand, Jessica and Logan begin their journey to Sanctuary, which ends at Cathedral. They meet Mary-Mary 2, who hands them a key and tells them to use it…soon. Jessica sums up doubts about nursery practices that led her to seek out information about Sanctuary. After the battle with the cubscouts, Logan and Jessica take a maze car to an undersea city. Having used his gun, Logan's Sandman status sparks heated arguments with Jessica, as her palm flower turns black. In a panic, Jessica runs through the complex, crashing into a door release. Her struggles to open it are halted by a harpoon hurled by the mutant, Whale. Disarming Logan, Whale leads the two runners through "Molly's" crumbling compartments. Logan is left in a compartment with a failing wall, while Whale advises Jessica on the next part of the journey to Sanctuary. Jessica rescues Logan, and they take the next maze car. An electrical fault sends them to an icy North Pole prison facility called Hell, where the Warden outlines the rules of survival. After the death battle with Harry 7, Jessica and Logan hear of Box, and decide to brave the Arctic wilderness. After falling into exhausted sleep on the ice, Jessica and Logan wake to find the seal-oil-smoky lair of Box. In his ice sculpture studio, Box invites the pair to pose for him, to be immortalized in ice forever. Logan demands that Box tell them how to leave Hell before they pose for him. After the session, Box knocks Logan unconscious and puts him into an ice cage, then, using ice chains, sets Jessica on an ice slab and suggests that she beg for her life before an ice block crushes her. Logan breaks out of the cage, fences with Box, burying the man machine in a pile of his ice creations. Following Box's singsong directions, Logan and Jessica find themselves on the undersea city maze car platform. (There is more, but stopping at page 67 of 148 is quite enough.)Yes, but in 1967 terms. Ballard, a shadowy figure in the book, has ALL the answers. a5c7b9f00b Mu eca tamil dubbed movie free downloadEpisode 1.7 full movie in hindi downloaddownload Creepy ClassicsWinds Of War full movie free downloadDrone to the Bone full movie hd downloadRailroad Tigers full movie download mp4Max Payne full movie in hindi free download hd 1080pThe Look Out, Officer! The Assignment movie in hindi free downloadDownload Bride of Kodiian full movie in hindi dubbed in Mp4
